About Us
I'm Nick, owner of Mr. Tubby Refinishing, based in Summit, IL and serving the Chicago metro area since 2013.
Refinishing isn't glamorous, but it's honest work. Most people call because their tub, tile, or sink looks rough but the bones are fine. Instead of a full replacement, and everything that comes with it, demo, plumbing, weeks of disruption, we strip it down and rebuild the surface so it looks new again. Same fixture, fraction of the cost.
Every job starts with the repairs before any refinishing happens: cracks, chips, rust, whatever's underneath. That part gets skipped by a lot of shops trying to move fast. We don't skip it, because a finish only holds up as long as what's under it. Whether I'm the one doing the work or one of the techs I've trained personally, every job gets held to the same standard.

Nick from Mr. Tubby was great! He arrived on time, walked me through the options of what he could do, was upfront and clear on the price, and left the space clean and tidy when he was done. In the end, I ended up only needing a deep clean to remove some rust spots from the tub instead of a full reglaze. The tub looked brand new when he was done! I highly recommend Mr. Tubby for any reglaze or tub/shower deep clean project you encounter. He's the best!

He did a great job on my tub! I have had it for a couple of months now, and it is holding up great. Someone else had previously refinished my tub a couple of years prior, and it was done quite poorly. Nick did an awesome job redoing it. He was very kind, accommodating, and fairly priced.
